Texas Football: Brandon Hodges Transferring For Final Season

This will leave the Texas football program in a bit of a bind.
New Longhorns head coach Tom Herman will enter his first season at the helm with the team scrambling to get a body on the offensive line. Time remains to secure a viable option on their depth chart, but the unexpected transfer of senior right tackle Brandon Hodges is a legitimate inconvenience.
Hodges announced he will be transferring on social media Tuesday afternoon.

Hodges started nine games for the Longhorns last year, but missed time due to issues stemming from his academics. Because he has already earned his degree, he will be eligible to play immediately after transferring to a new school.
Fans have already made overtures to him on Twitter, attempting to sway him towards their school.
Hodges is a native of Mississippi, and Mississippi State is a possible landing spot for him. If he wished to stay in the state of Texas, Baylor is looking for offensive line help right away.
Back home on the farm in Texas, Tom Herman will begin to evaluate his depth behind Hodges more closely. Tristan Nickelson and Denzel Okafor are the likeliest options to fill the hole left by Hodges on the offensive line.
