Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston expects the most out of himself.
Throughout his first two years in the NFL, the former Heisman Trophy winner and Florida State standout has been off to a hot start. While he has yet to lead his team to the postseason, Winston has been impressive with more than 4,000 yards passing in each of his first two seasons.
The 23-year-old also earned a Pro Bowl appearance in his rookie campaign.
However, even though the early success in his career has been impressive, Winston has his sights set even higher; he wants to be the best of all-time.
“Ultimately, I want to be the greatest of all time one day. That has to be your goal,” Winston told the NFL Network.
“People always say, ‘Well, that will never happen,’ but I don’t know it’ll never happen until I’m gone. So I’m gonna do anything that I can to be great,” Winston added.
The Buccaneers have added weapons around Winston this offseason — wide receiver DeSean Jackson and tight end O.J. Howard — so he will have every opportunity to continue to improve.
And at just 23 years old, the sky is the limit for Winston and his determination to be the best will continue to push him towards the upper echelon of NFL signal-callers.
