Creighton Basketball Lands Four-Star PF Ian Steere

Despite a number of offers from top programs across the country, four-star power forward Ian Steere will be joining the Creighton basketball program.
On Friday, Steere took to social media to announce his commitment to Greg McDermott’s squad.
The North Carolina native is the No. 7 overall prospect in his state.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God for allowing me to play this game at all,” Steere wrote in a brief statement on Twitter. “I want to thank all my coaches that have pushed me to my limits to become the young man and player that I am today, especially Jeff McInnis and Keith Gatlin.
“I want to thank every single school that gave me the opportunity to be recruited and it was an honor to be a priority for so many great programs. Last but not least, I want to thank my family for being there for me, especially my father. With all that being said, after much thought and consideration, I want to announce my commitment to Creighton University.”

Steere chose Creighton over programs like Louisville, Kansas, Maryland and UConn.
Securing a top prospect this early in the recruiting process looks good for the future of the Bluejays’ Class of 2018.
