Ohio State Fan Recovering From Brain Injury Still Hates Michigan

The Ohio State vs. Michigan rivalry is alive and well. With both teams nationally relevant at the same time in years, it’s kicking into high gear.
With fans like Zach Lawrence of Dublin, Ohio, it’s easy to see why the annual rivalry match is always such a heated affair.
Lawrence is lucky to be alive after an automobile accident while on a business trip in Europe caused significant brain damage. Doctors anticipated taking him off of his feeding tube anywhere from six months to a year following the accident. He wasn’t expected to survive.
However, after four short months, Lawrence started to show progress. He started opening his eyes for longer periods of time and being more aware of his surrounding. He is in the process of rehabilitation now. And if there were every any doubt whether he was within his right mind, a response test conducted at the hospital put those worries to rest.
Lawrence as given a remote in which he was asked to push a button indicating “yes” or “no.”
After being posed the question: “Do you like Michigan?”, Lawrence pushed the “no” button… twice.
Lawrence has made incredible progress in his recovery, and is able to color with his six, and four-year old children now. His rehabilitation continues, as does his hatred for Michigan. If he is able to get well enough, you have to imagine he’d love nothing more than to be able to go watch another classic matchup between the Big 10 foes in person.
