It seems like faith in Charlie Strong exists outside of Texas. After a heavily scrutinized, and ultimately laughable tenure as the head coach of the Longhorns, Strong returns to the conference of his roots.
Belief in him is strong, as his new team is considered an overwhelming favorite to win their conference.
The USF Bulls received 26 of the 30 available media preseason poll votes to win the conference, published on NBC Sports earlier today. In the East Division, they were a unanimous selection, receiving all 30 first place votes.

The Bulls finished 11-2 last season, and capped the best year in program history with a Birmingham Bowl victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks. Much of the recent success, and optimism for the future, is a result of their dynamic quarterback.
Now with another year of experience under his belt, the sky is the limit for field general Quinton Flowers.
Other teams that received votes to win the conference championship were Houston (2), Memphis (1) and Navy (1).
Charlie Strong steps into the role of head coach in somewhat of a rare position. His team is ready to win now, with another coaches players. He’ll be given every opportunity to prove he still knows how to coach.
