Holy crap, it is actually happening. On August 8, ESPN will be temporarily transforming ESPNU into “ESPN8: The Ocho.” The channel was inspired by the film “Dodgeball” and will be “bringing you the finest in seldom seen sports.”
For nearly 24 hours ESPN8 will be airing obscure sports, including a cornhole tournament, Firefighters World Challenge, trampoline dodgeball and even a roller derby.
Be warned, though, because ESPN wants us all to know that Cotton McKnight and Pepper Brooks won’t be in the broadcasting booth.
