Paulie Malignaggi Quits As Conor McGregor’s Sparring Partner After Leaked Photos

Paulie Malignaggi has quit Conor McGregor’s training camp.

Malignaggi joined Team McGregor ahead of the UFC champion’s highly-anticipated Aug. 26 fight with Floyd Mayweather, but now he has decided to throw in the towel as McGregor’s sparring partner after two sessions.

The split came after photos from one of the sparring sessions surfaced on social media that did not paint Malignaggi in a good light.

Malignaggi was furious, claiming the photos did not show what really happened throughout his time with McGregor.

Its not nice 2 paint a pic that isn't true, this was a pushdown in sparring, post the whole video rounds 1 through 12 UNEDITED https://t.co/R82BLiMMVm

Malignaggi went on to state that regardless of what the photos show, he was actually “beating the breaks” off of McGregor throughout the sparring session.

I actually beat his ass, 24 hrsoff a flight 2 lol, which is why Im saying post the vid, I try not 2 be petty but seems it's late 4 that now. https://t.co/vSE2Iw4ffM

Nah I pretty much talked shit that whole sparring session while I beat the breaks off him, the push down was his frustration from it. https://t.co/m0IDBP0pB2

Is there anything Conor McGregor does that doesn’t end with drama?

Now with just a few weeks until McGregor and Mayweather face off, the UFC champ will be left in search of another high-level boxing to come in and spar. Without that pro boxing experience in front of him in the ring throughout the final stages of training, McGregor could find himself in trouble at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Aug. 26.
