This is where the media frenzy first began during the O.J. Simpson trial.
With “O.J. Simpson: Made in America” debuting massive ratings and acclaim, and the former football star recently being granted parole, this is likely a case of “strike while the iron is hot.”
If you find yourself flipping around on the television on Monday night, stop by the History Channel.
TMZ is reporting that the infamous slow-chase vehicle that has become immortalized in helicopter footage was recently offered up to the members of the History channel show “Pawn Stars.”
If you’re unfamiliar with the show, it’s set in a Las Vegas pawnbroker who deals in rare and interesting items. While there is no denying this would instantly become one of the most iconic pieces in the pawn shops collection, the asking price is very steep.
Simpson’s former agent Mike Gilbert has been in possession of the vehicle the entire time, and is looking for $500,000 from the Pawn Stars team.
The show has never seen pawn shop manager Rick Harrison dole out that kind of cash, so it could be an interesting negotiation. With interest and intrigue in the Simpson case as high as ever, he might be in for a huge payday.
The new episode will air on Monday at 10:00 p.m. EST on the History Channel.
