Tulane Basketball Will Use 'Angry Wave' Logo At Mid-Court

The Tulane basketball team might have drawn the short end of the stick when it comes to team monikers ang logos.
For years, the logo failed to embrace the challenge and produce something creative; a “T” being overtaken by a green wave, not so inventive. Last year, they unveiled their “angry wave” logo to critical praise.
It looks like the angry wave logo is here to stay.
On Wednesday, the school announced that it will be using the new iteration of their logo at center court for the foreseeable future.

While the wave closely resembles a bizarro version of Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, it’s undeniably an improvement.
It’s fun, has some attitude, and if you know that the school identifies as the “Green Wave” beforehand, it makes total sense. How much can reasonably be expected from the team playing on the court is another matter altogether.
Tulane won only six games last season under first year coach Mike Dunleavy Sr.
They’ll be looking to take a decisive step forward in 2017-18, and with a veteran coach at the helm and the “angry wave” logo at center court, they are in good position to do so.
