Mike Tirico To Call Notre Dame Football Games Alongside Doug Flutie

Mike Tirico is going to become the national voice of Notre Dame football.
On Monday, it was announced that Tirico will be taking over as play-by-play announcer for the Fighting Irish’s NBC broadcasts. Tirico will be joined in the booth by Doug Flutie.
“Mike has been an elite play-by-play voice in both professional and collegiate football for more than a decade,” said NBC SportsExecutive Producer and President of Production Sam Flood in a statement.
“He is the latest in a line of distinguished broadcasters to call Notre Dame Football on NBC, including Dick Enberg, Charlie Jones, Tom Hammond, Don Criqui, and Dan Hicks. We look forward to hearing Mike call the first-ever game at the newly-renovated Notre Dame Stadium against Temple on September 2 on NBC.”
Tirico has worn a number of hats since joining NBC, most notably calling Thursday night NFL games and serving as the primetime host of the Rio Olympics. Now, he’ll get to focus on one of college football’s premiere programs.
