Georgia Tech Football: Starting RB Dedrick Mills Dismissed

The Georgia Tech football program has dismissed one of its top offensive players just ahead of the start of the 2017 season.
On Friday, the Yellow Jackets announced that starting running back Dedrick Mills has been dismissed from the team for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Mills ended last season being named MVP of the TaxSlayer Bowl.
Throughout the season as a true freshman, Mills recorded 771 yards and scoring 13 total touchdowns. Mills was suspended for three games last season due to a variety of violations and punishments.

It is a major loss for the Yellow Jackets and leaves the offense scrambling for a replacement just weeks before the start of the season.
Georgia Tech opens its 2017 campaign Monday, Sept. 4 against Tennessee at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
