Showtime has confirmed that Demi Lovato will be singing the National Anthem at the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather fight on Saturday. TMZ confirmed the announcement on Tuesday.
Lovato is a huge MMA fan herself and is a regular fixture at UFC events. The former Disney product trains at Jay Glazer’s gym in Los Angeles and is currently promoting her new song “Sorry Not Sorry.”
It appears to be a win-win for all involved.
It won’t be the first time she has sung the nation’s tune at a major sporting event, either. She sang the National Anthem at the World Series in 2011, and again 2015.
As both a fan and performer, Lovato would have likely been in the house regardless of whether or not she was part of the goings on.
“The Money Fight” will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, Aug. 26. It is expected to be one of the most viewed fights in history, and is already one of the most anticipated.
