Iowa Suspends Manny Rugamba For 2017 Season Opener

The Iowa Hawkeyes should dominate the Wyoming Cowboys on paper. If they’re looking for a way to stack the odds against themselves, it’s working.
On Tuesday, they announced cornerback Manny Rugamba has been suspended for the season opener.
Hawkeye’s coach Kirk Ferentz didn’t say what rule it was that Rugamba violated, but you have to figure it was significant enough to net a one-game suspension against one of the more explosive quarterbacks in the FBS.
Wyoming star Josh Allen is a legitimate dual-threat and a potential first-round selection in the upcoming NFL Draft.
With Rugamba on the bench, it opens the door just a crack for Wyoming to pull off an upset. The Hawkeyes will remain the favored side in the matchup, but without one of their starting cornerbacks in the lineup, stopping Allen becomes significantly tougher.
Expect Wyoming to attack Rugamba’s side of the field in an attempt to take advantage of his absence.
