All Rise! The New York Yankees wonder-boy outfielder might be struggling in the second half of the season, but that isn’t slowing his hype train.
With the Yankees taking on the AL East rival Boston Red Sox, an actual judge was in the crowd. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, a Bronx native, was on hand.
Good on her for playing along, too.
Sotomayor sat in the area of the stadium known as the “Judge’s Chamber,” where fans wear costumes resembling that of a judge.

Despite Judge struggling to hit above the Mendoza line in the second half of the season, the Yankees remain in control of one of the Wild Card spots. As it stands, they hold a one-game lead over the Minnesota Twins, and a 2.5-game lead over Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels.
It remains unclear as to whether Sotomayor applied the Yankees logo to one of her actual judge’s robes. If she did, it should make for light-hearted court proceedings in the near future.
