The AdvoCare Classic between No. 11 Michigan and No. 17 Florida at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas is one of the marquee matchups of the first full weekend of the 2017 college football season.
But while there was plenty of attention on both teams leading up to the game, there was one major question left unanswered.
Who was going to start at quarterback for the Wolverines?
Well, when the Michigan offense jogged onto the field Saturday afternoon, it was Wilton Speight who earned the No. 1 reps. Speight beat out John O’Korn and Brandon Peters to earn the starting job.
Last season, Speight threw for 2,538 yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Michigan and Florida are currently tied, 3-3, with less than five minutes remaining in the first quarter.
