PHOTO: Western Michigan Honors Mike Sadler With Helmet Decal

The Western Michigan Bronco’s will honor former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler with a decal on their helmet on Saturday when the two teams meet head-to-head.

Sadler passed away after a traffic collision on his way home from a kicking/punting camp in Wisconsin.

Photo’s of the decal on the WMU helmet made the rounds on social media ahead of the game on Saturday.

What a gesture by @WMU_Football to honor @Sadler_3 with these helmets vs @MSU_Football. Class act. Thank you for honoring my friend. 💚💚💚 pic.twitter.com/jzCO61DoIO

Sadler has been honored in a number of ways stretching back to last season. Western Michigan has chosen to honor his memory well after a year after his unlikely passing. It’s a decision that was unexpected but certainly appreciated by those around the MSU program and Sadler’s family.

The two teams will kick off at 3:30 pm from Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.

While this game would be easy to pick a winner historically, Western Michigan played heavy favorite USC well last week. The Trojans eventually pulled away, but not before the Broncos managed to put 31-points on the board against them..

A similar performance might be enough to knock off the Spartans.
