Amanda Nunes Gifts Belt To Cancer Survivor After UFC 215

Following UFC 215, women’s bantamweight championship Amanda Nunes performed an incredible act of kindness.
Angie Rose, a 19-year-old cancer survivor, shared her story of meeting the champion on Reddit and detailed an incredible exchange that ended with Nunes gifting her belt to Angie.
Angie was waiting outside of the post-fight press conference when Nunes told her bus driver to stop the bus so she could get out and say hello. When Angie and Nunes came together, Angie gave Nunes some bracelets that she made. Nunes responded to the gesture by giving her the belt.
“As she put the belt on me she told me that ‘I was the real champion’ and hearing those words mean so much to me after I have battled through nine years of sickness, sadness, pain and suffering with off again, on again cancer,”Angie wrote.
“It is now gone but I need a lung transplant. UFC and MMA has really been a great distraction as I am always looking forward to the next big fight! Next, I want to see Conor McGregor.”
Hopefully as her story gets out, the UFC and McGregor can come together to make her next dream come true.
