The FAU football program was forced to stay in Wisconsin longer than planned in Week 2, and Owls head coach Lane Kiffin is expressing his thanks to Badgers Nation for their hospitality.
FAU remained in Wisconsin following their Week 2 clash due to the incoming threat of Hurricane Irma.
The Owls did not head home until the following Wednesday.
On Friday, Wisconsin State Journal sports reporter Todd Milewski took to social media to show off a full-page ad Kiffin took out in the paper to thank everyone who helped his team out.
Kifin wished the Badgers luck the rest of the season, while finishing off with an “On Wisconsin!”

“Dear Badger Nation, Thank you! You have opened your hearts to our football program for the past six days in our time of need. Every single person on campus and in the community was kind and courteous. The Badger football Team even shared their home with us and made our stay as comfortable as possible. We are forever indebted to the Wisconsin Athletic Department, Athletic Director Barry Alvarez and Head Coach Paul Chryst for their collective generosity. We wish you nothing but the best of luck with the rest of your football season. On Wisconsin!”

The bad news for FAU was that they lost to Wisconsin, but the good news is they returned home to find their facilities avoided any significant damage.
The Owls will host Bethune-Cookman this Saturday in Boca Raton with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. ET on beIN Sports.
