VIDEO: Sean Spicer Appears As Himself At The Emmys

Sean Spicer and Melissa McCarthy probably owe each other more than the other realizes. McCarthy’s notable impression of Spicer on SNL has become an over-the-top staple of the political lampooning on the show, and Spicer probably wouldn’t be nearly as well-known if it weren’t for her impression.
In last night’s Emmy presentation, host Stephen Colbert decided to call in one of many cameo’s, setting the tone for a night that would be full of them.
It started by Colbert asking the audience if any of them knew how many people were in the audience. A seemingly rhetorical question with no expected response, Sean Spicer emerged from backstage, accompanied by a podium.
That’s when he did his best impression of Melissa McCarthy doing an impression of Sean Spicer:

McCarthy looked a little embarrassed when she saw Spencer make his way out on to the stage. His appearance drew notable reactions from a number of the celebrities in the audience, notable “House of Cards” Kevin Spacey.
It was one of the more memorable editions of the Emmy’s in a long time, and Colbert has drawn rave reviews for his performance as host of the ceremony.
