We’ve heard a lot about unity in the past few days, but if there is one thing that can really bring Americans together it is their love of ballpark food. That was on full display Monday night during a game between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals.
While chasing down a foul ball in the bottom of the second, Cubs shortstop Addison Russell flew into the crowd.
Unfortunately, he missed the ball and only came away with an arm covered in cheese after he destroyed a poor Cardinals fan’s plate of nachos and sent them flying onto the field.
That’s nacho cheese, Russell 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/DDvkfFqZXb

But have no fear, Russell came back to save the day.
Russell returned to the field with a plate of fresh nachos and hand-delivered them to the fan in the stands with a huge grin on his face. Everyone was all smiles, selfies were taken, and there was a moment of unity all thanks to some free nachos.
Sorry, Kendall Jenner and Pepsi, nachos are what really bring us together.

The Cubs went on to win, 10-2, but the Cardinals fan was really the big winner. He got a selfie with an MLB player, got to appear on MLB highlights, had free nachos given to him from the Busch Stadium staff and then MORE free nachos personally delivered.
Oh, and he caught a foul ball from Russell.
Have yourself a day, Cardinals fan.
