Houston Texans Set Franchise Scoring Record; Deshaun Watson Scores 5 TDs

Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson had himself a day as the team set a franchise scoring record with a 57-point performance against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon.
Houston won the game 57-14, with Watson contributing five touchdowns on the day.
Watson the No. 12 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Clemson, recorded 283 yards passing and four touchdowns through the air, with an additional 24 yards and one score on the ground.
The former Clemson star’s five-touchdown performance tied an NFL record for rookie quarterbacks.
Before half, Watson had already accounted for three touchdowns.

He continued his impressive day with two more in the second half to close out the game.
Here was Watson’s fifth score of the afternoon:

It’s hard to imagine that just a few weeks ago the Texans had Watson as the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart behind Tom Savage. It looks like the job is now Watson’s for the keeping as he continues to show Houston fans some of the magic that helped lead Clemson to a national title during his final year with the Tigers.
Houston returns to action next weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs entered Week 4 undefeated and will take the field on Monday night against the Washington Redskins at Arrowhead Stadium.
