Comedian Ralphie May has passed away, according to multiple reports.
TMZ was first to report the news on Friday afternoon. May’s manager Judie Marmel later confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter.
May was just 45 years old.
May first became a household name after his standout performance on the first season of Last Comic Standing. May won second place in the competition before going on to stardom. He was currently in the midst of a world tour.
According to May’s manager, his cause of death was cardiac arrest. His body was discovered at his private residence in Las Vegas.
May had recently battled pneumonia, Marmel added.
May, who is survived by his wife Lahna Turner and his two children, April June and August James, has two comedy specials currently available to watch on Netflix. Ralphie May: Unruly and Ralphie May: Imperfectly Yours.
