UFC 216 has undergone a last-minute change.
Just hours before the pay-per-view main card is set to begin, a scheduled heavyweight contest between Derrick Lewis and Fabricio Werdum is now off of the card.
Lewis was pulled from the card due to complications with a lingering back injury.
From Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com:
Spoke to Derrick Lewis via text.
"I can't move," Lewis wrote. "I’m feeling the same pain in my back that I felt before the Mark Hunt fight."
Dealing with two bulging discs. His team tells me he tried his best to fight through it. He's devastated. More coming to @MMAFighting.

While Lewis is unable to fight, Werdum has found a new opponent and will remain on the card.
Following Lewis’ withdrawal, the UFC has rescheduled Werdum to take on Walt Harris on the main card. Harris was originally set to face Mark Godbeer on the prelims, but that fight has since been scratched.
It now presents an incredible opportunity for Harris to knock off a legend in the sport and make a name for himself as a name to watch in the heavyweight division.
