Washington State football coach Mike Leach was not pleased with his team’s effort in an embarrassing 37-3 loss to unranked Cal on Friday night.
Following the loss, Leach spoke to the media and did not hold back when describing his takeaways from the game.
“There is no bright spot. We were pathetic. We were a bunch of pathetic front runners,” Leach said.
The Seattle Times shared video of Leach’s brief rant on social media.

The Cougars entered last night’s game with a perfect record and the No. 8 ranking in the nation. Unfortunately for Mike Leach and company, their chance to reach the College Football Playoff now takes a devastating blow.
Washington State wasn’t the only top ten team to lose on Friday night, however. In the first game of ESPN’s double-header, No. 2 Clemson fell to unranked Syracuse.
Washington State will look to bounce back next weekend at home against Colorado.
