Al Michaels is one of the best play-by-play announcers in sports, but during the Sunday Night Football broadcast on NBC he had a major lapse in judgement.
When getting ready to cut to break, Michaels chose to crack a joke about disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, who is facing multiple sexual assault allegations.
Rather than simply saying the New York Giants were leading the Denver Broncos, Michaels made a cringeworthy remark.
“The Giants are coming off a worse week than Harvey Weinstein,” Michaels said.

As you would expect, there was immediate backlash on social media as many began criticizing Al Michaels for his remarks.
Al Michaels is what happens when you surround yourself with people that routinely laugh at your bad jokes.#SNF

Al Michaels is probably the best play-by-play guy in history. But boy… that was a big, big lapse in judgment.

We’ll have to wait and see whether there is an apology coming.
