Texas Football: Sam Ehlinger In Concussion Protocol, Questionable vs. Baylor

The Texas football program could be going into this weekend without starting quarterback Sam Ehlinger under center.
Luckily, they’re matched up against the lowly Baylor Bears.
According to Longhorns head coach Tom Herman, Ehlinger is in concussion protocol and was held out of practice following the team’s loss to No. 11 Oklahoma State.
Ehlinger played the entire game, but reportedly began to feel concussion-like symptoms after the final whistle.
His status for this weekend’s game is uncertain.
”The medical guys started noticing something was off and he was complaining a little bit,” Herman said, via the Associated Press. ”They evaluated him at that point, sent him home, nothing concrete at that point Saturday night. Gave it 24 hours and came back yesterday and showed some symptoms.”
If Ehlinger is unable to go this weekend, the Longhorns will turn to former starter Shane Buechele, who lost the job to Ehlinger after suffering multiple injuries.
Kickoff between the Longhorns and Baylor is set for noon ET on ESPNU.
