No. 1 Pick Markelle Fultz Can't Raise Arm To Shoot Due To Injury

Markelle Fultz was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Unfortunately for the former Washington Huskies star, the start of his career has not gone as planned. Fultz has struggled mightily with his shooting throughout the first few games and now we have an understanding of why.
According to Fultz’s agent, Raymond Brothers, Fultz is unable to lift his arm to shoot because of a shoulder injury.
“He literally cannot raise up his arms to shoot the basketball,” Brothers said, via ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. “He decided to try and fight through the pain to help the team.”
Fultz is reportedly set to meet with a specialist soon.
If the shoulder injury is impacting Fultz’s shooting that greatly, the 76ers need to send him to the bench until further testing is done and they learn exactly what damage was done. If not, the offense will continue to struggle.
To start the season, Fultz, who has completely altered his free throw form, is just 33 percent and 50 percent from the charity stripe. He has yet to attempt a three-pointer this year.
Next up for the 76ers is a Wednesday night meeting with the Houston Rockets.
