The Penn State Nittany Lions had hopes of winning a national Championship this year. That ship has sailed, after having lost two games this season, Penn State is now clinging to hopes that they’ll appear in the Big Ten conference championship.
But even if they whiff on that as well, it’ll be a year Chance Sorrell will never forget.
The former Nittany Lions offensive lineman arrived on campus in 2014, but had his career cut short after multiple injuries. Sorrell has remained with the team despite not being able to play, and when the Nittany Lions downed Rutgers decisively, he wanted the win to have a cherry on top.
Surrounded by his teammates, Sorrell asked his girlfriend if she would come down from the stands and join him on the sideline.
Sorrell proposed, she agreed, and all was right with the world.

Sorrell and his new fiancee, Kayla Lonergan, are happily engaged. Love was in the air at Beaver Stadium that night, and with Nebraska and Maryland left on their schedule, things are looking up for the Nittany Lions.
