Marvin Bagley Injury Update: Mike Krzyzewski Comments On Eye Injury

Duke basketball star Marvin Bagley III suffered an eye injury during Tuesday night’s win over the No. 2 Michigan State Spartans.
The star freshman suffered the injury midway through the first half after being poked in the eye by teammate Javin DeLaurier while attempting to block a Michigan State shot.
Bagley remained on the court for a few minutes before being taken to the locker room. He did not return to the game.
The good news, however, is that the injury does not appear to be serious.
Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski provided an update at the post-game press conference.
“His eye was starting to shut,” said Coach K. “At first he had a hard time seeing out of the eye. He can see out of it. I don’t know the exact term. It’s scratched. I could see it when he was on the floor, it was, like, red. I think he will [be fine].”

Duke won the game, 88-81, thanks to a remarkable 37-point performance from senior guard Grayson Allen.
Next up for the top-ranked Blue Devils is a Friday night clash against Southern. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. ET. There’s no word on whether Bagley will be available for the game.
