Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has responded to allegations brought to light on Friday.
According to a report from Buzzfeed, Winston was accused of groping his Uber driver during an incident in 2016. Winston and the driver were waiting for food at a Mexican restaurant when he allegedly “reached over and grabbed my crotch.”
The driver immediately filed a complaint to Uber, which claims to have banned Winston from the service.
After the allegations were reported, Winston took to social media to issue a lengthy statement denying the sexual assault, but added “I regret if my demeanor or presence made her uncomfortable in any way.”
