Mississippi State’s Nick Fitzgerald Suffers Gruesome Ankle Injury

Mississippi State football star Nick Fitzgerald suffered a gruesome ankle injury on Thursday night.

Early in the 2017 Egg Bowl matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels, the Bulldogs quarterback was wrapped up while running out of the pocket and twisted awkwardly to the ground.

Fitzgerald was placed in an air cast and carted off the field.

The star quarterback had 1,770 yards passing, 968 yards rushing and 29 total touchdowns this season.

Without the junior signal-caller in the lineup, Mississippi State will turn to four-star freshman Keytaon Thompson.
