Apparently the injury to Ohio State football star J.T. Barrett wasn’t sustained during the game.
If Urban Meyer is correct, a camera man injured the Buckeyes quarterback before the game even kicked off. He is calling for an NCAA investigation, suggesting that he believes foul play might have been involved.
Meyer was livid while talking to the press. Once the quarterback came to the podium, the appetite for the reporters in the room was whetted, and Barrett didn’t leave them wanting.
He walked them through exactly what happened.
Hearing him go through it makes it sound like it was probably an accident. But it’s the coaches job to be incensed for his players.
If Meyer hadn’t come out swinging, some the guys in the locker room might have felt like he didn’t have their back.
Intentional or not, Barrett says he’ll definitely be able to play next week in the conference championship game. If Ohio State is able to come up big in that game as well, they might be able to sneak back into serous College Football Playoff consideration.
The Buckeyes are a long shot, but they looked strong against a quality opponent this week.
