Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey appears ready to leave mixed martial arts behind her for good.
On Thursday, reports surfaced that Rousey is in the process of finalizing a deal with WWE. USA Today’s Martin Rogers had the report, which confirms a long-running rumor that Rousey was poised to make the jump from the Octagon to the squared circle.
Rousey has been making WWE appearances with more frequency in recent months, including an appearance at the Mae Young Classic and briefly working out at the WWE’s Performance Center.
Previous rumors indicate Rousey could be poised for a match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans on April 8, 2018.
the rumors have said Rousey could potentially take on Stephanie McMahon or Charlotte Flair in a singles match at the biggest event WWE has to offer, with others suggesting a potential match between the Four Horsewomen of MMA — Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir — and the Four Horsewomen of NXT — Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Bayley.
WWE has not commented on any rumors.
