University of Baltimore students were not thrilled to see Education Secretary Betsy DeVos delivering a commencement speech.

Leading up to her speech, there were a number of protesters including faculty of University of Baltimore, LGBT activists and students. Once she was inside, the reaction was again mixed.

During her speech, dozens of students stood up and turned their backs on DeVos as another public demonstration.

“Ms. DeVos seems to go against the very core of so many of UB’s values and makes our mission statement look to be a mockery,” read a petition after DeVos was invited to speak.

In the spring, DeVos delivered the commencement speech at Bethune-Cookman University. That appearance was also met with protesters, before students turned their backs and booed her as she dlivered her address.

Maybe it’s just time for Betsy DeVos to stop delivering commencement addresses.
