The Nebraska basketball program brought some added joy to walk-on Tanner Borchardt’s holiday season.
Following a big win over Delaware State on Friday night, Cornhuskers head coach Tim Miles made a special announcement.
Miles was dressed up as Santa Claus when he entered the locker room with gifts for his players. Miles was delivering cookies to his players and Borchardt, who played three minutes in the game, received the last one.
When Borchardt took a closer look at his treat, he say the message “congratulations on the scholarship.”
As expected, everyone went wild.
Check out the special moment for the Academic All-Big Ten member.

Borchardt walked on at Nebraska despite receiving multiple FBS offers as an all-state football player and state shotput champion. His loyalty to his home state ended up paying off in a big way.
The Cornhuskers return to action on Friday, Dec. 29 against Stetson at home. Tip-off is set for 8:00p.m.ET
