The Duke football team will pay tribute to the past when it takes the field on Tuesday evening against the Northern Illinois Huskies in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit.
Earlier this month, the Blue Devils equipment team unveiled the special throwback helmets the team will be wearing.
The old school helmes — which feature “Duke” written in script blue rather than the classic “D” logo — come with a chrome blue facemask and dark blue visor. They’ll be complemented be an all-white “Icy White” uniforms.
