ESPN’s Katie Nolan has ignited some controversy after comment made on Viceland’s late-night comedy show “Desus & Mero” on Thursday night.
Nolan immediately tested the the Worldwide Leader’s politics policy during her appearance when she began discussing President Donald Trump and “white power” hand signs.
After bleeping out initial comments from Nolan regarding the president, she followed it up by calling him a “f*cking stupid person.”
Nolan made the comments with a bit of laughter, but they still challenge the political policy from ESPN.
Late last year, SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill was suspended for multiple violations of the network’s social media policy after criticizing Trump and referring to him as a white supremacist. That led to a back-and-forth between the president and ESPN.
Whether Nolan faces any punishment remains to be seen and ESPN declined comment to Sporting News.
While some people may be offended by the nature of Nolan’s comments, it’s unlikely that she will face any severe punishment due to the platform and tone of the appearance.
