Oprah Winfrey 2020? Oprah 'Actively Thinking' About Presidential Run

Oprah Winfrey brought down the house at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards with an incredible and powerful speech while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award on Sunday night.
Immediately following her speech, there were calls for an “Oprah 2020” campaign spreading like wildfire on social media.
As it turns out, Oprah for president may not be as unlikely as you’d think.
According to a report by CNN on Monday morning, the queen of everything media is “actively thinking about a presidential run in the future.
From the report:

Some of Winfrey’s confidants have been privately urging her to run, the sources said.

One of the sources said these conversations date back several months. The person emphasized that Winfrey has not made up her mind about running.
A representative for Winfrey did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Winfrey’s speech was highlighted by the rallying call of “a new day is on the horizon,” referencing the cultural change led by the #MeToo movement which led to many women coming forward to speak out against sexual misconduct in Hollywood.
“A new day is on the horizon” also seems like quite the campaign slogan, so Oprah is already one step ahead of the game.
Winfrey previously campaigned for Barack Obama and she endorsed Hillary Clinton for president. And hey, the country already elected a billionaire TV show, so why not roll the dice on one who is self-made and makes philanthropy the center of their platform? It could be a very interesting campaign in 2020.
