13-year-old Jaden Newman has been a star in the making, but now she has taken her profile to new heights.
This week, the Downey Christian School (Fla.) standout secured her place in the record books with an incredible 70-point performance.
Everything was going right for Newman during a 115-31 win over Discovery High School as she tied a national record with a whopping 17 three-pointers made.
Newman finished the game 17-of-24 from beyond the arc and 24-of-38 from the floor while making 5-of-5 free throws.
It was the performance of a lifetime:

Newman says she knew it was going to be a great game from the opening bucket.
“Right when the game started, I knew I was in the zone,” Newman said, via D’Arcy Maine of ESPNW.com. “Right off the bat, to start the game, I made an and-one 3. That was the first play of the game. That built my confidence, and I knew I should just keep shooting.
“I felt like I couldn’t miss. I just kept making everything.”
Newman obviously has a bright future ahead. But should we really be surprised by anything she does after she has already beaten Steph Curry in a three-point competition? The sky is the limit for this young girl.
