Former Michigan State and current Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has spoken out regarding the ongoing sexual assault scandal surrounding his former school in the midst of Larry Nassar’s sentencing.
Nassar, the former Michigan State and Team USA gymnastics doctor, was sentenced to 175 years in prison after more than 150 women — including dozens of former Michigan State athletes — gave victim impact statements at the trial.
The disgraced doctor was previously sentenced to 60 years behind bars on child pornography charges.
On Saturday night, Green addressed the scandal and issued an emotional statement expressing his support for the victims at the university.

“I want to start by saying: Obviously I’m an alumni of Michigan State and I’ve gotten asked quite a few times about over the last day or two, even before that, about all the things that’s come out. And, as a diehard Spartan fan, as an alumnus, as a supporter, I wish those affected — whether you were touched by, broken by, shaken, whatever it did to you — I wish them well in their recovery.
“And the victims and other supporters — because it touches everybody in a different way. Whether you’re a supporter and it just kills your pride or whether you’re a victim and you’re going through the things you’re going through, so I wish them well in their road to recovery.
“I offer my support to coach [Mark] Dantonio and coach [Tom] Izzo in their efforts to rebuild and to help the victims in any way that they can. They say the true test of a man and his character is what he do in a time of adversity. I know those two guys will stand up and do whatever they can to help.
“I look forward to helping in any way I can those affected: Like I said, supporters — most importantly, the victims. In any way I can help, I look forward to that. Just wanted to start by saying that.”
