The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions. On Sunday night, Philadelphia edged the New England Patriots for the first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history, but halftime performer Justin Timberlake is also generating headlines.
Timberlake made his return to the Super Bowl stage for the first time since the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” in 2004 and paid homage to Minneapolis native Prince during his 13-minute show.
Some were unhappy with Timberlake’s choice to use a projection of Prince — because Prince specifically stated he thought holograms were demonic — even though a projection is not the same as a hologram. The song Timberlake played at the piano as the stadium was lit up in purple was “I Would Die 4 U.”
But regardless, Timberlake went on with his decision and put on a solid show that ended with a journey through the crowd and the now viral “Super Bowl Selfie kid.”
The performance included classic Timberlake hits “Cry Me A River,” “Suit & Tie,” “SexyBack,” “Senorita,” “Mirrors,” and “My Love,” along with some of his newer music “Can’t Stop The Feeling” and “Filthy.”

The Eagles took down New England, 41-33, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in a wild game that came down to the very last play.
