NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has always been an entertaining character, so if you were to find out that there were games he played during his career where he was absolutely hammered it may not come as too much of a surprise.

Well, thanks to a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, we have confirmation that Chuck was throwing back beers before taking the court.

Barkley recalled a story from his NBA career which included some afternoon beers when he thought he was getting traded to the Los Angeles Lakers from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ultimately, the deal fell through, so Sir Charles had to suit up with the beer pouring from his pores.

“I was so excited, so me and my boys went out to celebrate and we started getting drunk in the middle of the day. My agent calls me back about three hours later and said ‘the Sixers pulled out of the deal,’ and we got a game that night,” Barkley told Kimmel.

“First off, I was so pissed, but I was so drunk too. I can remember a lot of games I played, but that day we were so excited I was getting out of Philadelphia and I was blasted I’m not going to lie.”

Brilliant. We wouldn’t expect anything less from Chuck.

But kids, don’t drink and play.
