Fergie was awarded the honor of kicking off the 2018 NBA All-Star Game with her rendition of the national anthem.
When any artist performs the Star-Spangled Banner at a major event, they like to put their own twist on the tune, but Fergie’s freedom with the melody and beat left everyone scratching their heads and holding back laughter.
Yeah, it was that bad.
Everyone from Chance the Rapper to Draymond Green to Jimmy Kimmel to Kevin Durant and LeBron James were spotted laughing after questionable runs from Fergie.
Then you had guys like Joel Embiid who seemed to be wondering exactly what the hell was going on and DeMar DeRozen looking like he was sitting next to a really smelly dude on the subway counting down the stops until he could get away.
The reactions were truly spectacular.

It’s safe to say that originality didn’t go over as Fergie would have hoped. And we have a hard time believing she’ll receive an invitation to sing the national anthem at a sporting event anytime soon.
As for the game itself, it was one of the best NBA All-Star Game in recent memory with the new format seeming to bring out the competitive nature of the players.
Ultimately, Team LeBron came away with a 148-145 win over Team Curry in a game that went down to the wire.
