The FX hit show Atlanta — starring Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz — returned on Thursday night with the season 2 premiere, titled “Alligator Man.”
The show featured a fantastic cameo from Katt Williams and delivered the same witty, unique approach that has established it as one of the best shows on television.
There were plenty of great moments throughout the show, but we’ve put together some of the best that had people buzzing on social media.
If you missed out on Thursday night’s season 2 premiere, we have you covered.
The top 10 moments, quotes and jokes from “Alligator Man” — written by Donald Glover and directed by Hiro Murai — can be seen below:

10. The Playlist

While Atlanta brings some great humor and finds a way to touch on topics other shows wouldn’t dare to approach, the musical score to each and every episode really pushes it over the edge.
Here are the songs that were featured in Thursday night’s premiere episode:

9. Mrs. Winners

via FX
Atlanta kicked off season 2 by bringing back a Mrs. Winners for a hilarious, yet intense scene. After ordering the “No. 17” through the drive-thru and going to pick up their bud, the kids jumped through the window and attempted to rob the dealer of his drugs. Of course, things are never as easy as they seem, so out came the choppa and a shootout ensued.
If you’ve ever been to a Mrs. Winners, it wouldn’t be that surprising.

And if you’ve ever listened to Childish Gambino, you may remember this line from “Outside”:

Dad lost his job
Mama worked at Mrs. Winner’s
Gun pulled in her face
She still made dinner

8. “I ain’t gotta do sh**, cause I ain’t done sh**.”

Nothing more needs to be said.

7. “I meant what I said, but I’m sorry I said it.”

Another simple, yet perfect quote from the episode that everyone can relate to.

6.Azealia Banks Snapchat Shoutout

via FX
Darius delivers once again: “He got a full grown Caiman in here with chicken carcasses around it, sh** like an Azealia Banks Snapchat.” Darius then adds, “The vibe in here is feeling more and more like jail, so I’m just gonna…”

5. The Gold Piece

After some great advice from Uncle Willy — “Get rid of that chip on ya shoulder, it’s not worth ya time.” — Earn is gifted a gold-plated gun that he “will need in the music business.” Earn may not have a home, but he’s got a gold-plated gun that you know will play a factor down the road.
And the reaction from Darius, Al, and the recently-released-from-prison friend was a great way to end the show.

4. What flavor is a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto?

Earn: “What flavor is a flamin’ hot Cheeto?”
Darius: “Hot.”
Earn: “… I am tasting hot.”
Brilliance in its simplicity.

3. Florida Man, the alt-right Johnny Appleseed

Atlanta beautifully incorporated the “Florida Man” meme into the episode, with Darius listing off a sequence of events that have actually come out of Florida in the headlines. Florida has become known for its bizarre cries, and the scene flowed perfectly with “Alligator Man” when Uncle Willy (Katt Williams) later called back the joke saying, “I ain’t crazy. I ain’t Florida Man.”

2. Alligator Distraction

via FX
After you were left wondering whether Uncle Willy actually had an alligator in his house — you had to know he did, because why would the kids lie? — the distraction to buy escape time led to a perfect entrance for the animal as everyone looked on before the top moment of the show…

1.Free Willy — Katt Williams on the run

After the alligator diversion, seeing Uncle Willy sprint off into the distance gave viewers a perfect moment of laughter before everyone said, “I really hope this becomes a recurring character.”
