The 2018 NCAA Women’s Tournament has reached the Final Four, with the remaining teams heading to Columbus, Ohio for the national semifinals and national championship schedule that will take place March 30 and April 1 on ESPN and ESPN 2.
While the women’s tournament has lacked the unpredictability and excitement of March Madness on the men’s side.
For just the fourth time ever, the Final Four teams are all No. 1 seeds.
Emerging from the Kansas City Regional is the No. 1 seed Mississippi State Bulldogs, who topped Nicholls State, Oklahoma State, NC State and UCLA en route to the Final Four. Louisville took down Boise State, Marquette, Stanford and Oregon State during their run through the tournament to win the Lexington Regional. Mississippi State and Louisville will face off March 30.
In the second national semifinal are No. 1 seeds UConn and Notre Dame.
Notre Dame took down its competition in the Spokane Regional with wins over Cal State Northridge, Villanova, Texas A&M, and Oregon. UConn, meanwhile, steamrolled its competition in the Albany Regional with wins over St. Francis, Quinnipiac, Duke and South Carolina.
