On Friday night, the UConn women’s basketball team suffered a surprising defeat in overtime that bounced the Huskies from the 2018 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament in the Final Four.
UConn was undefeated entering the game before falling to Notre Dame.
After the game, UConn head coach Geno Auriemma spoke to reporters to discuss what it felt like for the team to come up short after such an impressive regular season run.
“There really is not a whole lot you can say in a moment like that. To have a game like that and come up short. We know we were playing a great team. And they had a lot of players that could decide the game,” Auriemma told the media following the game.
