Mike Leach Continues To Be A National Treasure With This Amazing Racoon Story

Mike Leach is a national treasure. Every time the Washington State football coach finds a microphone in front of him, he delivers a hilarious soundbite that shows a brief look at the unique individual he is. We were reminded of that during a recent media session this week.
Following Washington State’s spring practice, Leach was asked about the strangest animal he has ever seen while walking to work.
If you didn’t know, Leach has a strange love of raccoons and his curiosity about the animal led to a half-mile long distraction while he was supposed to be on his way to the facility.
Apparently, Leach tracked a raccoon for quite a while just because he wanted to see where it lived.
“I tracked a raccoon one time in the snow,” Leach told reporters. “I was in a neighborhood and I was just curious where this raccoon lived, you know.”

Now, we’ve all had our own reasons for showing up late to work. But has anyone ever tried the “I was busy tracking a raccoon because I wanted to see where it wanted to live” excuse? If you ever give it a shot, let us know how that turns out for you.
