FIU Football: 2 Players Hospitalized After Drive-By Shooting

-

Two members of the FIU football program — running back Anthony Jones and offensive lineman Mershawn Miller — have been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries in a drive-by shooting, according to reports.

From WSVN:

They said the shooter or shooters were driving a 2013 to 2015 dark gray Nissan Sentra.

If you have any information on this drive-by shooting, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.

The Panthers came up short in their 2018 season-opener against the Indiana Hoosiers, losing 38-28. The team returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 8 against Old Dominion. Kickoff at Foreman Field is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on beIN.

This is a developing story. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
