Police report possible active shooter at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Downey, California. The facility is currently on lockdown as police investigate the reports of a man with a gun.
The LASD Norwalk Station tweeted that they are currently are assisting the Downey police department with what’s being described as a “fluid” emergency situation.
According to a tweet from The Downey Patriot, faculty at the hospital were reportedly told by officials to “get out.”
UPDATE (3:15 p.m. EST): A suspect is in custody following the reports of shots fired. LASD officials said that no injuries were reported in the incident.
The medical center is located at 9300 Imperial Highway which is southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

The active shooting threat reports at Kaiser Permanente Hospital is the is just the latest in a string of lockdowns, bomb threats, and shootings that have plagued the United States.
