The Colorado State football team will be rolling out some fresh new alternate uniforms this weekend against the Illinois State Redbirds. Under Armour unveiled the new look, which is a throwback to the Rams’ days as the Colorado A&M Aggies on Saturday, Sept. 22.
While Colorado State will be adding a vibrant “Aggie Orange” to their uniform for the game, their dark green will remain consistent.
Green represents the school’s agricultural roots dating back to its founding in 1870 as the Agricultural College of Colorado, is a reminder of the tree-lined Oval and mountainous campus and most importantly, echoes CSU’s outstanding commitment to sustainability initiatives.
While Colorado State changed its name and mascot, they continue to pay homage to the past with the Aggie “A” sitting on a hill above Hughes Stadium. The school’s current mascot, CAM the Ram, was named using an acronym for the former university title “Colorado Agriculture and Mechanical College.”
Kickoff between Colorado State and Illinois State at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium is set for 3:00 p.m. ET. The game will air on American Trigger Sports Network (ATSN).
